Valerie Sorbie
Board Chair and Office of the President
Val is Board Chair and member of the Office of the President at LXRandCo and Managing Director at Gibraltar Ventures which is a shareholder of LXRandCo, a company she has been involved with since 2016. Val has focused on board, leadership and strategic advisory, bringing over 30 years of leadership experience in strategy and operations. She is or has been a member of several boards, including: Harvard Kennedy School Woman’s Leadership Board; Tilley Endurables; Steam Whistle Brewery; Bishop Strachan School (Chair); TKEES; Kahuso (Chair), and; Black Business and Professionals Association. Prior to joining Gibraltar Ventures in 2016, Val was Chief Administrative Officer, BMO Capital Markets and Senior Vice President, Office of Strategic Management, BMO Financial Group since 2007. Prior to BMO, Val’s experience includes Chief Operating Officer of several software companies, both public and private, in the US, the UK, Canada and Israel, and she was also a Strategy Consultant at Kearney and Omega Strategy Partners (UK). She also spent the summer of 1991 teaching business principals during the Coup d’Etat. Val holds an MBA from the Ivey School of Business, Canada, a Premier Diploma from the University of Grenoble, France and an Honours BA from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, in Anthropology and Biology. Val and her husband live in Toronto and have three children. Val has been a director of LXRandCo since May 2019.
Camillo di Prata
Interim Chief Executive Officer and Office of the President
Cam is a director and interim Chief Executive Officer of LXRandCo, and the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gibraltar & Company, which through its affiliates is a major shareholder of LXRandCo. A former financial services industry executive with over 25 years of mergers and acquisitions and leadership experience, Cam has significant transactional experience primarily in the technology, media and consumer sectors. During his career he worked with increasing leadership responsibilities at Nesbitt Burns, Citigroup, and Scotia Capital. In 2003, he joined National Bank Financial as Vice-Chairman. In 2006, he was promoted to Executive Vice President and head of National Bank Financial’s corporate and investment banking division, a position he held until 2012. He founded Gibraltar in 2013. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Cam is active on several corporate boards and in the not-for-profit sector, where he has been a past director of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, The Canadian Opera Company, The Empire Club of Canada and The Munk Centre for Global Affairs. He is presently a Board Trustee and member of the Executive Committee of the Art Gallery of Ontario where he also Chairs the Finance Committee, a director of Harbourfront Centre and a director of The International Festival of Authors. For his service in promoting Italian culture in Canada, in 2007, he was awarded the Star of Italian Solidarity and appointed to the rank and title of Commendatore (Commander) by the Italian Government. A citizen of Canada and Italy, Cam resides in Toronto with his wife, son and their dog, Moose. Cam has been a director of LXRandCo since June 2015.
Joslyn Paredes
Chief Operating Officer
Joslyn Paredes serves as our Chief Operating Officer. Her forward-thinking insight and her advanced ability to analyze data make her a strategic analytics powerhouse. She joined the company in 2017 as a Manager of Product and Planning and became the Director of Product and Planning in 2018. Her hard work earned her the title of Chief Operating Officer as of 2020. Joslyn brings over 15 years of experience in retail and wholesale, holding various roles in buying, planning, and allocation. Prior to joining LXRandCo, Joslyn worked as a Manager of Merchandise Planning and Process Implementation at the Mark Edwards Group for two years after having occupied the role of Planning Manager for three years. Joslyn earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2004 with a Major in International Business and a Minor in Financial Accountancy from Concordia University.
Laura Swan
Chief Revenue Officer
Laura Swan is the Chief Revenue Officer where she is responsible for LXRandCo’s wholesale activities, the retail store network, and third-party e-commerce-related business activities. Laura joined LXRandCo in June of 2019, bringing with her over 25 years of Retail experience and success in Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, Product development and Developing highly successful teams. Prior to joining LXRandCo, Laura was the VP of Accessories at the BonTon, where she was responsible for the successful launch of LXRandCo. Before this role, she was Senior Vice President DMM at Kohl’s for 10 years, where she introduced new business categories, implemented best practices in merchandising, and increased the ecommerce contribution. She was recruited to this opportunity from Zale’s, where she was Senior Vice President of Merchandising in the US and Zale Canada. Laura began her retail career at Macy’s and held various progressive leadership roles during her tenure there. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Retail from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Jewelers for Children organization and has been recognized for excellence in merchandising by the Women’s Jewelry Association. Laura also has a passion for serving her community and is a member of the Waukesha Women and Girls Fund planning committee, whose mission is dedicated to advancing the health, well-being and empowerment of women and girls in her local community.
Nadine Eap
Chief Financial Officer
Nadine Eap is the Chief Financial Officer. Nadine has more than 15 years of experience in corporate finance, accounting and operations roles. Prior to joining LXRandCo, she was Finance Manager at TSX-listed Aimia Inc., where she was responsible for corporate planning and analysis of various departments, as well as providing finance business support to the office of the Chief Information Officer. Prior thereto, Nadine was Director of Administration and Finance at Logibec, a software and consulting company in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Logibec, Nadine spent seven years at Deloitte in Montreal and Sydney, Australia, where she held various roles with increasing responsibilities, serving both large public and private clients, primarily in Technology, Media and Telecommunications ("TMT") and Consumer sectors. Nadine earned a Bachelor of commerce degree and a Graduate Diploma in Accountancy from HEC Montreal. She is a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agrees du Québec.
